Preseason gets serious this weekend! So everyone is welcome, current players, new players and those who might not have made training yet, to come down and have a game. Venue and time to be advised.
Don’t forget training this Thursday 6.30pm at Timbrell Park.
For those of you that forgot or have still to make it down, Thursdays 6.30pm at Timbrell Park. Also all new players most welcome, contact Phil or Dave (numbers on the right) if you have any more in-depth questions, but otherwise come down and enjoy the fun!

Training will commence on Thu 4th Feb, Timbrell Park at 6.30pm. The plan after the 4th is to have a Tue gym fitness session and a Thu football session.

The Reserve Grade 2009 team prior to the League Cup final against the Golden Stars. We went down 4-3 but gave a great team and almighty shake that day…

Well, after a long season, punctuated by injuries to both grades and some up and down performances, we are finally down to some finals football. Unfortunately the Firsts bowed out of all competitions over the weekend coming to grief against the Leichhardt Tigers for a second week in the row.
The Reserves however are in all competitions still, all 3 of them. After accounting for a mostly absent Fenix side on Saturday in the strange Divisional knock out cup, they got up for a stirring win over Bondi FC on Sunday.
A tense first half highlighted by some outstanding defense, was followed by a flurry of activity in the second. Two top shelf strikes from Callum put us up 2-0 before Bondi came roaring back. Bondi came home with a wet sail after their bugalugs centre midfielder roofed a ball from the 6 yard box and they pressed hard for the final 30 mins. Despite trying their same trick from last season by trying to bowl the keeper over into the net they were not able to equalise.
So this sets up two consecutive weeks of finals against the Golden Stars. All games now are at Lambert Park which will makes things interesting with the running game of the boys from Ghana!
Also dont forget for those interested there is the end of season trip to the Gold Coast ( contact Phil for more details ), the SAFL shindig at the Bald Faced Stag on Oct 10 and the inaugural Mark Kenny’s Ball ( details to follow ).
Below are the squads for our games against Golden Stars tomorrow @ The Home of Football. Kick offs are the usual 1pm & 3pm, so please be there 45 minutes before hand.
Also, don’t forget that after the game we will be indulging in a few beers to farewell the single status of Kieran.

As you can all see, we have had a bit of rain this week. All our council’s grounds have been closed this week to give them a chance for tomorrow.
If the Home of Football gets closed for the weekend we are doing our best to find another ground for the game against Fenix tomorrow.
