Opening rounds for Season ’09

The first few games of the season have been released, and they are as follows;

Sat April 4th: Wanderers vs Thirsties @ The Home of Football, Easton Park.

This, the season opener will be the annual Family Day so bring the wives, girlfriends, undecideds, kids, friends and any wellwishers. There will be wobbly pop for the ladies and sweet assortments for the kiddies and Jarrud, and a free BBQ (conditions apply).

Sun April 19th: Fenix FSC vs Wanderers @ Knight Park No2.



This weekends game – Sat 28th March

Lads we are playing at Birchgrove Oval Leichhardt No.2 this weekend in another preseason hitout with Dobroyd.

Reserves kick off at 9am

Firsts at 11am

This will be the first time we have played a match at Birchgrove, so that should be kinda cool…. BOO!

UPDATE: match has been moved to Leichhardt No2 (unfortunately)

Annual Shirt Auction – March 28th

Please join your team-mates at the Dry Dock Hotel, Cameron Street, Balmain, from 7pm onwards, to bid for your lucky number or win one of the always fantastic raffle prizes.

Bring plenty of cash; and wives, girlfriends and life partners all welcome. For extra credit help Timmie ask how old each of the partners are….

UPDATE: the shirt auction has been postponed to April 4th, following the season opener and Family Day at the Home of Football.

Finally I can inform you of the set up for this year. There will be two (2) divisions playing the normal home and away “premiership”. The top four finals and The Amateur Cup. Time permitting there will be a 6 a side comp to. Working on last years final placing the divisions will be thus;

Ted Horwood Reserve (Park Street/Renown Road), turn off M2 at Barclay Road.

Lads, tomorrows game is at King Georges Reserve in Rozelle. You have to enter via Victoria Rd, and turn left at Toelle St and that will take you down to the carpark.

Reserves kick off at 1pm so be down in time to warmup, First are off at 3pm.

The Bulldog at the Home of Football

For those of you that caught the totally awesome opening montage of the A-League grand-final would have noticed that Robbie “The Bulldog” Slater was gracing the hallowed turf of Easton Park, the home of football. His adjective laden but largely confusing monologue about the lead up to the final was only enhanced but his surroundings. You could just feel the history and passion leaking from the grass….
