Easton Park was closed and so for a second week running Wanderers had their game postponed. (If any players are not receiving sms alerts please contact Ally or Fergal.)

Wanderers V Ecuador

12 04 2008

The game returned to the people on Saturday last as Wanderers hosted Ecuador at the hallowed turf of Easton Park. The almost capacity crowd in attendance were not to be disappointed with fans being treated to both a feast of goals and food. Gav Russell exceeded his high expectations as club chef and no less than 16 goals were scored on the day.

The Reserve Grade got things going with a 7-0 win. Leading 4-0 at half time, the Wanderers were simply the better side in a one sided affair. James Nicol pulled off a couple of good saves in the opening stages while at the other end Kieran Buckley three, Paul Wildin got two and Fergal Donlon and Dean Davis got one each to give their second win from two games.

The First Grade got their first points of the season beating last years cup winners 8-1. A tight first half had the sides level 1-1 at half time but the scoreline blew out in the second half with goals coming from Luke (3), Trev(2), Ryan, Ian and Beachey.
